The annual Horowhenua Kapiti Secondary Schools 7’s took place last night at Playford Park in Levin.
The introduction of an U15 Girls grade into this year’s tournament meant we had the most teams we’ve ever had competing at the tournament since the competition started. We now have grades for Open Boys, Open Girls, U15 Boys and U15 Girls, which highlights the development of 7’s amongst our Secondary Schools.
The Open Boys grade was fiercly competitive, with Waiopehu College edging out Kapiti College based on who beat who earlier in the day. The Open Girls grade was won by Paraparaumu College who beat Horowhenua College in a fast paced final. Kapiti College U15 Boys took out their respective grade after beating Waiopehu College in the final, while the new U15 Girls grade was taken out by Paraparaumu College in a close final against Te Rahui Kura.
A big thanks to the volunteers, referees, coaches, teachers, parents and supporters who were able to help out on the day either with the tournament or with their respective teams. Without all of these helpers, the day would not be able to go ahead.
