Congratulations to 2019 Ramsbottoms Cup winners Foxton edging out Waikanae in what was closely fought final. Foxton shot out to 24 – 0 lead in the first 20 mins before Waikanae came back with 2 tries to head to the half time break 24-12. In the 2nd Half Waikanae continued to claw their way back eventually taking the lead 25-24 with what looked like the game winning try by veteran hooker Keith Milligan crossing in the corner late in the game, but it wasn’t to be with Foxton First Five Cody Hemi snatching back the lead with only a couple of minutes to go. This was Foxton’s first Premier championship since 1988.
In the Bill Muir Cup Levin College Old Boys Senior Reserves claimed their third consecutive title by narrowly beating Paraparaumu 13-12. It was a tight tussle with COB leading 3-0 at half time. Paraparaumu taking the lead midway through the 2nd half with a converted try taking the score to 12-6. Only to have COB Forward Faamanatu Kaisala score the match winner and then converted by First Five Junior Tiata to lead by one point.
