Horowhenua Kapiti secure Ranfurly Shield Challenge
The Ranfurly Shield will be on the line when Horowhenua Kapiti take on Hawkes Bay at McLean Park in Napier on Friday 17th July.
The Ranfurly Shield Challenge against Hawkes Bay comes after a strong Heartland Championship campaign where Horowhenua Kapiti narrowly lost to Buller in the Meads Cup Semi-Final.
Horowhenua Kapiti CEO, Corey Kennett, was delighted to receive the news from the Hawkes Bay Rugby Union. “This is a massive opportunity for the rugby community of Horowhenua Kapiti and one that we are really excited about. This will be a great experience for the team and should prove to be a good build up to the 2015 Heartland Championship season. To play at McLean Park will be a special occasion for the players and management, and it is something they will cherish for a long time. We are extremely thankful to the Hawkes Bay Rugby Union for accepting our challenge.”
