The Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Union has been saddened to hear of the passing of HKRFU Board Director Bruce Mansell on Tuesday.
Bruce was appointed to the HKRFU Board of Directors in September 2007, a position he still held with great enthusiasm and his contribution will be sorely missed.
Born in Bulls, Bruce attended Levin Primary School and Horowhenua College, moving to Kapiti in 1963.
The Union was delighted to hear of Bruce’s induction to the Business Kapiti Horowhenua Hall of Fame in October last year. Bruce was a founder and Chairman of Directors of Paraparaumu Coastland Shopping Centre, over the years Coastlands has provided sponsorship to many causes, including the HKRFU Heartland team.
A service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held in Southwards Museum Theatre, Otaihanga Rd, Paraparaumu, on Wednesday 23rd January at 2.00pm.
The HKRFU would like to convey our sincere condolences to Bruce’s wife Meg and his family.
