Our HK U12’s and U13’s travelled down to Maidstone Park in Upper Hutt last weekend to take part in the annual interprovincial tournament. On Friday our U13’s took on Hutt Valley and a strong start from Hutt Valley saw them lead 27-0 at half-time. A much better second half saw lots of positives and despite the 32-7 loss, there were lots of positives. Saturday was a much more difficult assignment for the boys and went down heavily to a very strong Western Bays side. With two losses on the board, the team could’ve easily given up on the last day but a well-deserved 45-17 win v Wellington City kept the boys in good spirits and are looking forward to the Heartland U13 competition.
The U12’s had three losses, although will be working hard to rectify that and the weekend spent together will put them in good stead for the Heartland U12 competition.
