It is with much sadness that we learn of the passing of Michael McNamara.
Michael was a much-loved member of our Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Referees Association, always having a smile on his face and always quick to put his hand up to referee. Last year he brought up the amazing feat of refereeing his 200th Premier Club Game in Horowhenua Kapiti.
We’ll dearly miss his knowledge, the way he enjoyed himself on the field along with catching up over a beer after a game.
It didn’t matter what level of rugby needed a referee or an AR, Mike would always be willing to help out.
We have lost a true community servant and our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the McNamara whanau.
