The Horowhenua Kapiti Maori rugby team travelled to Palmerston North on Saturday for the annual Te Tini a Maui Rugby Tournament. In the first game, Horowhenua Kapiti had a tough win against Wairarapa Bush, winning 10-0. In the afternoon game, Horowhenua Kapiti came up against a strong Taranaki team. Horowhenua Kapiti played well all game and after being locked at 17-17, Horowhenua Kapiti gave away a penalty in an effort to halt the Taranaki attack. Taranaki kicked the penalty after the hooter and unfortunately Horowhenua Kapiti went down 20-17.
